How To Bake A Potato

by admin

This may sound like a simple task but there is so much more to the baked potato than just putting it in the oven until it is cooked. Baked potatoes are enjoyed by millions of people everyday whether it is as a side dish to a main meal or stuffed full of your favourite fillings.

The choosing of the potato can have an effect on the desired outcome of the potato so you must make sure that they are of good quality and of the same size otherwise one potato might be cooked quicker than the other. Preheat an empty oven to five hundred degrees F and then wash your potatoes but be sure to leave on their skin.

Then place the potatoes on an individual sheet of foil and prick a few fork holes into the potatoes and then drizzle them with olive oil until a thin layer of the oil has coated all the potato. Then you should season the potatoes with some salt to taste but remember you can always add salt when needed after they have cooked.

Wrap the potatoes in their foil parcels and then you can carefully place them in the oven and begin the cooking process. Set a timer for around forty five minutes and then remove the potatoes from the oven, using a fork check the potatoes to see if they are cooked if they are soft then they are cooked but if the potato is still slightly crunchy then place them back in the oven for another fifteen minutes or so.

After the fifteen minutes have passed the cooking time will then have been around an hour and the potato should be cooked. Carefully unwrap them and then add your favourite toppings to them and enjoy.
