There is always something special to the great smell that fills the home when you do some baking. If you have young or even old kids you always see the sense of expectation on their faces when they know that something is being baked in the oven. This is how to make one of the world’s favorite cookie recipes, which are the good old chocolate chip variety.
- You will need and three quarters of a cup of rolled oats, one cup of whole wheat flour and half a teaspoon of baking soda.
- Also you will need half a teaspoon of salt a quarter of a cup of butter that has been softened, a quarter of a cup of canola oil and a third of a cup of granulated sugar and a third of a cup of brown sugar and 1 large egg.
- Preheat the oven to three hundred and fifty degrees and coat two baking sheets with cooking spray.
- In a food processor grind the oats and then transfer them to a medium size bowl and stir in the flour baking soda and salt. Beat the butter with an electric whisk until nice and fluffy then add the oil and sugar egg and some vanilla and then beat until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the dry ingredients while the mixer is still running which will include your chocolate chips. Drop the formed dough onto a baking sheet around and inch apart from the others and make sure to bake the sheets of cookies one at a time until the edges are firm and the tops are golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool for at least two minutes on the baking sheet and then you can transfer them to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely and then enjoy.
