Mushrooms require a cold place to grow, the temperature must be low and it should be damp and dark. Your basement can just be the right place for it; however if you can create such a place in your garden or elsewhere then the mushrooms can grow there as well. Once you have provided it with the required environmental needs, within 3 to 4 weeks you will start to see mushroom heads coming up. Once the heads are opened up and they start to leave their stem, it will be time to pluck them. They are ready. The homegrown mushrooms are the best to eat, so start growing.
