We tend to think that being a man there is little to worry about when it comes to hair and hairstyles. But, no, we are wrong if we think this! Most of them care about their looks and hair as much as women do. Nowadays you can find saloons that specialized in all the different types of men’s hairstyles and you will be surprised to see that there as almost as many different ones as you may find for women! There you will also find hair products especially created for men.
2008 has brought a man’s hairstyles to either short or long and with a natural part. The hair is usually parted where it splits naturally, and doesn’t matter if it is in the center or the side of the head. Nothing is unnatural, but hair products are often used to help the look.
These styles tend to regress back in time to the 1940’s and 1950’s, with common influences being Al Capone and Humphrey Bogart. Many of these classic styles are once again becoming popular. Some of the other classic men’s hairstyles are overly textured and often look as though you just woke up. Spiky hair is no longer in style and is probably better left that way!
Some men change their hairstyles with every season. Others will sport the same look their entire lives. It’s a matter of personal preference of course, but men should choose styles that compliment their features and face shape. Short, styled hair never seems to go out of style, while long hair seems to be reserved for the young music or sports minded men.
And when it comes to age, it is really rather irrelevant when choosing a hairstyle. Careers and social activities should be considered with anyone’s hairstyles. Many older men look very trendy in today’s styles. You may not be able to pull off a faux hawk, but your forty-year-old uncle in retail might be able to.
Men’s hairstyles are also changing; remember the mullet in the 1980’s? Consider asking your hairstylist what styles will look best on you, or take the time to look online for ideas and suggestions. Many websites also offer the opportunity to upload your photo and create different looks. This is a great way to see if you will like the style before spending your hard earned money on it, or deciding afterwards you don’t like it.
