Simply defined constipation is the decrease in the frequency, formation or passage of stool. Probably this condition happens too many times to many people that it is already a normal thing if one suffers from this issue of bowel movement. Nevertheless, the responsible for constipation is the colon, which is the one responsible for the formation and elimination of stool.
The process of constipation can be seen in how food passes through the colon and push to the rectum as stool. Large and small intestine squeeze water and fluid from the food and thus form stool. When water and fluid is squeezed too much from the stool, it hardens and thus the difficulty of eliminating it through bowel movement.
Common as this health condition may be, it is still important to know the symptoms of constipation so that discomfort and hassles to a person can be avoided. Below are classic symptoms of this condition:
- Infrequent bowel movement – since the stool has hardened before it reached the rectum, the activity of bowel movement lessens
- The stool is hard than usual – when too much water and fluid had been extracted by the intestine in the stool that is formed, the stool become too hard than it normally should
- Cramps – this may result to the need of the person to defecate but cannot
- Straining When Defecating – since the stool is already too hard and squeezed out of water and fluid, he person strains to release the stool. This on the other hand may result to hemorrhoids.
- There is a desire to defecate but cannot eliminate the stool – since the stool is already too hard, one feels the urge to defecate but cannot because the stool cannot get to the rectum because of its hardness
Other related symptoms can run from coated tongue, pale skin, dizziness and headaches.

just make sure you have lots of dietary fiber in your food and you will be able to reduce the chances of having Constipation.

whenever i get Constipation, all i need to do is drink lots of orange juice and eat foods that have very high fiber.
