Unlike high blood pressure or hypertension, low blood pressure (hypotension) is not clearly defined by medical expert. Again, unlike hypertension the study concerning low blood pressure is not as prolific as the former. Medical expert only categorize hypotension or low blood pressure according to the standard rule of what a normal blood pressure is which is 120/80 (120 being systolic and 80 diastolic). Sometimes most of the definition of what low blood pressure is only derived or pulled from the definition of hypertension or high blood pressure.
Nevertheless, low blood pressure is considered not as dangerous as hypertension. If one experiences signs of hypotension, one should at least go to his doctor and tell about it. The reason for this is that most probably the cause of low blood pressure is brought about by another secondary medical condition. The only danger that medical practitioners see about hypotension is that when this happens lack of oxygen is brought to the brain, heart and kidney.
Compared with hypertension, which is almost symptom less, when one has low blood pressure symptoms in the body is easily be noticed. Here then are the symptoms of low blood pressure:
Dizziness
This is a classic symptom of the condition. One feels as if he is standing in a rocking boat most of the time when afflicted by it.
Fainting
Again, another classic symptom of low blood pressure. Since the pressure to pump blood is so low, not enough oxygen and blood is pumped up to the brain causing the fainting of the patient.
Unwell Mental State
A person may experience difficulty in concentrating when he has low blood pressure. He may even feel confuse to what is happening around him. Or there is a bad feeling of impending doom happening, which can be likened to anxiety.
Nausea
The person experiences nausea for no apparent reason.
